Halloween Costumes For Your Car

Happy October, ABC Smog Auto Service family! In fitting theme with October, we wanted to highlight some fun, easy Halloween costumes for your vehicle & other festive ways to add a little sparkle to your day. Most of us use our vehicle daily; why not bring the festivities with you or add a spooky creative element to your driveway?!?

Here are eight fun ideas to spice up your October driving life:

1. Skeleton Passenger. One surefire way to gain attention when driving around or going through a drive-thru is to buy any skeleton body and place it as your passenger! (It could even be fun to dress it up)
2. Scary Teeth. By simply taking white felt and creating sharp “teeth” like cuts, place them on your trunk you can make it look like a mouth when the trunk opens! Another idea is to have the “teeth” on the top part of your trunk and then create a red tongue for the bottom for a spooky effect! If you want to spice up your driveway, add a red tongue down the driekmobile. 
3. Supercar. For those of you with a blue vehicle of any kind, this idea is for you! By attaching a red fabric in a shape-like cut on the back of your car, and attaching a large yellow “S” on it, gives the illusion of superman! 4. Ghost. For perhaps one of the most simple ideas, drape a large white cloth over your vehicle when it is parked in a driveway to create a “ghost car.” And remember to cut out eye holes to sell the look!
5. Shark-mobile. Go all out with a man-eating shark-mobile theme! First, assemble some teeth with felt at the front of your vehicle (make them extra sharp.) One way to spice this up is to create a chewed-off hand in the teeth. Attach some shark fins to the sides and the top of your vehicle. Go the extra mile and sprinkle some fake blood around the car for the illusion that your shark-mobile has enjoyed some fresh human flesh.
6. Spider Season. For a straightforward customer, head to your local arts and crafts store & pick up some cheap Halloween faux spiderwebs and apply them to your vehicle. Put a couple of fake spiders to the sides, roof, and front end to complete the spider takeover of your car.

Halloween Safety Reminder

Halloween means lots of kids and cars around your neighborhoods and busy streets after dark. Even though this holiday brings excited kids in costumes and candy, the team at ABC Smog wants to highlight a few safety pointers on the “spookiest” night of the year. Trick or Treaters arent looking out for you amid all the excitement so here is your reminder to watch out for them. 1. Stay Alert. Keep your eyes on your surroundings. Watch for kids darting across the street. Where there’s one child, there are often more behind.
2. Headlights On. Perhaps on this night, turn your headlights on extra early; it is always better for you and your car to be seen. 
3. Slow and Steady Wins the Race. When driving in an area full of trick-or-treaters, it’s a good idea to go below the speed limit. Especially when driving in busier neighborhoods
